Advice for My Jan. 2020 Self: Zabrina, I know you don’t have time for this, but listen to me carefully: You are not going to make million-mile club on United this year. In fact, the only traveling you will be doing is literally in your dreams. Change your title to Contract Re-negotiator and brace yourself. Keep your team together and tap into their potential. Celebrate the small victories and remember this cannot last forever. Alcohol is not the solution, but it will help.
Pandemic Lesson: I have the most amazing group of women as part of my team and without them, Hamilton Group would not be worth owning. We don’t need to fit inside the meeting planner mold that we built for ourselves. Our talents are wide ranging and impressive. The relationships we have with our clients was our lifeline in 2020. Their commitment to our success is humbling. We will continue to build up these relationships, expand our services and replenish our savings and we will be ready for the next rainy day.

Overnight we went from International Meeting Planners to full time contract re-negotiators. We came together as a team, submerged ourselves in educational sessions, focused on new business opportunities and quickly learned how to stay relevant during this transformative period in our industry. Most importantly, we are proud of the way we have showed up for our clients and how we have helped them navigate this season. We have leaned on each other to keep motivated and to stay focused on the positive.
We are certain that this will make us and our business stronger.

December was a record month for us with several Hotel contracts signed, totaling over $1.5m in sleeping room revenue! We pride ourselves in the savings we bring to our clients, which was over $500k this year, and will continue to work with our Hotel partners to find the perfect fit for our groups. |

There are so many great experiences we are missing out on even though they are in our own backyard! HGMP made it a point to explore San Diego, Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Orange County this quarter. HGMP held our winter retreat at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, did a site inspection of the new InterContinental Los Angeles, toured the Walt Disney Archives in Burbank, enjoyed a Santa Monica sunset and Improv night at the Fairmont Miramar, climbed the San Andreas Fault and had a special pass to ride the newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy, at California Adventure! |
